We hadn't been to The Swanson in a couple of years. By couple of years, I mean over four. Not that we didn't want to visit. We just didn't hadn't taken the time. We hope that doesn't happen again. It's too good of a restaurant to not experience regularly.

We got there on a Thursday a little afte...

I needed a haircut. I’ve known Sherry for a long time and have heard nothing but good stuff. So I called to set up an appointment. I’m glad I did.
Everything about the experience was top notch. From the front desk receptionist to the the waiting room, and the stylists’ rooms were clean, warm, and...

I had heard of this place for a couple of years. Not this particular one off of the Interstate in Perry, GA. But the one in Tifton. I always felt that was a little bit too far to go for meats. But I ain't so sure about that now. Because if this one ever closes, I'm going on a road tr...

There are actually two Dunn’s locations in Reynolds. One of them is sort of a big flea market kind of place. You can spend all day there and never move over 20 feet. It’s packed with that much stuff. This is the one most often referred to as Dunn's Antiques, Auctions and More. That’s because it’...

Fish Fry Friday Drawing at Tim's Fireside Grill.
HiWay 96 will be giving away via a free drawing this Friday, one 11x14 print of "The Field Of Dreams".

In terms of fun, this was certainly a great memory. The painting is the second of the rekindled art career of Cheryl Bush. It is a mixture of...

That is so extraordinary!! I have seen this a couple of times, and was afraid I would be arrested for trespassing if I didn't have the properties owner permission to be there. Headed out !!

An excellent art project! I like the opportunity to follow online through Google apps and take best example about the unique collaboration on "Hiway 96"

About the project

State Route 96 a 95 mile long highway in Georgia. It starts at US 80 in Geneval and runs to US 441 south of Irwinton. Although it isn’t officially a Highway, you couldn’t tell it by talking to the locals. It’s been called Hiway 96  every since anyone can remember. And there are a lot of memories surrounding Hiway 96
And that’s what this project is about.
Cheryl Bush is an exceptional artist. Her attention to detail is what catches your  attention. But once you’re drawn in to her work, you know there are stories behind every painting. Even if you can’t see it, you can feel it. That’s how much emotion she puts into her work.
Her husband Stan Bush was raised in Houston County. He has stories of his own concerning Hiway 96.
Together, they are creating a small historical, digital, and artistic memory  book of some of it’s most easily recognizable spots.
