The Truck On Hiway 96

$15.00–$40.00

If you've driven Hiway 96 between Fort Valley and I-75, then you've seen this truck. It's been parked there for over 50 years. It's a 1946 Ford. Everybody in Georgia knows where it is.
This is a painting of that truck, by Cheryl Bush.

About the project

State Route 96 a 95 mile long highway in Georgia. It starts at US 80 in Geneval and runs to US 441 south of Irwinton. Although it isn’t officially a Highway, you couldn’t tell it by talking to the locals. It’s been called Hiway 96  every since anyone can remember. And there are a lot of memories surrounding Hiway 96
And that’s what this project is about.
Cheryl Bush is an exceptional artist. Her attention to detail is what catches your  attention. But once you’re drawn in to her work, you know there are stories behind every painting. Even if you can’t see it, you can feel it. That’s how much emotion she puts into her work.
Her husband Stan Bush was raised in Houston County. He has stories of his own concerning Hiway 96.
Together, they are creating a small historical, digital, and artistic memory  book of some of it’s most easily recognizable spots.
